SARAH'S SALUTATORIAN SPEECH

Ladies and gentlemen, parents, teachers and my fellow classmates. Welcome.
Thank you for joining us in celebration of this special moment--the graduation ceremony for the class of 2000.
We, the class of the Millennium, have been waiting for this day since we first entered Columbus High School four years ago, listening to, our hearts, following our dreams and reaching for the stars.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our families, our guidance counselors, all our teachers, and those who helped in making the best out of us. Thank you for giving us hope, inspiration, love and courage when times were hard. When there was no solution to an issue, you were the very first ones that we ran to. Thank you for having the patience and helping with the answers to any problem. Mom, thank you for all the undying love and support that touched my life and those of my brothers and sisters. Nothing would be as it is and I would not be here making his speech if it weren't for the positive qualities you instilled in me.
While we are grateful for our past and for our present, we, the class of 2000 look toward the future. We do and will always remember the past, dream about our future, and we make the best out of the present. We all have the talent, ambition and ability to inspire a new generation, to establish families, to improve our communities and reform our own lives. Whatever we will do after those days that we shared together, I wish you all the very best of luck and please keep in touch with each other. By remaining in touch, we will be reflecting our good times in high school as well as leaving ourselves open to more good times.
To all, I want to dedicate this quote to you. "I feel your hands guiding as I lift my wings to the dawn. I rise up to the heavens because your love carries me on. When I pass through the ocean of waves I stand firm seeping through the tides of lessons to be learned. Through the beauty of a pure and righteous love. I press onward flying high on the wings of a dove."
Once again, Congratulations.
Thuy (Sarah) Nguyen
